Winter learning journey / Day 3 activity 2

Activity 2 is about what I think because NZ people are killing pests just like possums. I have to make an opinion to give three reasons why I think that way.

  1. Possums eat leaves, flowers, leaf buds, fruit, birds, insects and snails.

  2. Possums eat eggs and chicks of  kokako

  3. Really dangerous to other animals because Possums have a diseases that can go around killing other animals.

  1. Hi Savelina
I one hundred percent agree with you. Possums are endangering one of our native birds (The Kokako). Keep up the amazing work.

  3. Hi Savelina!

This is a really strong argument for keeping New Zealand pest free and I totally agree! Apparently they eat 21,000 leaves per night too... I worked that out to be around 7 million leaves a year, which would be quite a few trees chewed through!
