Winter learning journey / Day 3 activity 1

I love doing this activity because I helped by adopting a Native bird. The bird that I picked was a Red-Crown Kakariki I liked the wild colors on this Native bird. This Native bird does eat a lot of habitats , but eat mainly seeds, flowers and fruit from numerous plant species. Invertebrates, particularly scale insects. They live in the wild on trees.

  1. Hi Savelina
You're right, the red crowned kakariki does have wild colors. I had no idea it was one of our native birds. I like the big words you used, like numerous and invertebrates. Well done.

That's a beautiful picture of the Red Crowned Kakariki you've added! It's great that you loved helping by adopting it - what do you think would call it?
