I created this DLO for my C.A.R.E award Excellence and innovation. I made this DLO about my personal passion which is baseball. This was not challenging because I had to write about myself and I know myself better then anyone in this world. 

Storytelling Maori myths.

Viva and I have finished our 25 summary. We have done this plane to help us finish our summary it has helped us by adding some words into our summary. I found it challenging to make my summary exactly 25 words.

Storyboard that / Moari myths and legends

 In New Zealand we have a lot of myths and legends. I have chose the myth about Maui and the three brothers catching the sun. I did this task so I can show you what happens in this myth and not tell you what this myth is about. I created this on a website called storyStoryboard that. This site was very easy to use I loved when I can change a lot of things and make it look like the real myth.

Winter learning journey / Day 7 bonus activity

Sadly this has been the end of the most spectacular winter learning journey. For this activity I had to talk about my experience from this amazing journey. I'v learnt a lot about New Zealand I have learnt about the wild life, Nature and also the wonderful people here. I loved Day  7 activity 2 because I got to tell you what is relaxing to me. Surprisingly I found out that whales are pasting away I felt so sad to hear that. But I also loved  how others are really trying their best to save the whales and I really appreciate it. I loved every part of this journey. This is my first time doing the winter learning journey so it is incredible there is nothing I hate.

This activity was fun for me because I got to take a picture of myself doing something relaxing I do. Here is a picture of myself reading a book. I love reading books it just calms me down. This book that I am reading is called Tom Gates Dog Zombies rule.

For this activity I had to come up with three things to make my neighbourhood look wonderful.

1 Pick up our rubbish 1 a week
2 More rubbish bins around the area 
3 Make signs to tell others to make the area clean

This activity was fun because I had to type down what Matariki Festival are happening at Te Papa museum.

1. Kapa Haka.

Winter learning journey / Day 6 activity 1

For this activity I had to pretend that I was on the first waka to Shag point. Also that I'v never been to New Zealand before and I had no idea what to except. After all of this experience I have to write a poem about when I arrived at NZ.

Saw a beautiful land with trees and nature.

I was nerves but I had a lot of plans. 

I saw a new future but also saw a lot of wild life.

Feel like I could come here twice.

Suddenly other people appeared. 

Nothing could compare.

For this bounces activity I looked at the Central Otago Rail Trail I had to tell you if I wanted to go to and why. I would 100% go to the Central Otago Rail Trail because I love out door activity's also I just love the open view if I was riding my own bike down the trail.

For this activity I got to learn about Jean Batten because I had to make a DLO about a famous New Zealander. I picked Jean Batten because I found it amazing that she broke most world records for solo flying.

Winter learning journey / Day 5 activity 1

For this activity I had to write a short story (8-10 sentences) to write this story I had to pretend that I was lost in a forest. I had to type down what will happen next.

One bright lovely morning I went down to Taupo I loved the beautiful view of the forest so I went to take a look. I was so busy looking a the wonderful trees and plants that  when I finally snapped out of it I realized I was lost by myself. I had a panic attack my heart was beating like I ran a marathon. I had no water and no food but luckily I ate a lot before I got lost. I was sitting down before I notice I fall asleep. I woke up and was hungry I was so hungry I felt like I haven't ate in two weeks. I felt like I was going to fall to the ground but as my eyes were about to close I could her noises IT WAS MY GROUP they found me right in time.

Winter learning journey / Day 4 bonus activity

For day 4 bonus activity I had to give my opinun that if people should be allowed to fish at Farewell Spit. I think people should be banned from fishing at the Farewell Spit because the Hector's dolphins are dying which of course is a very bad thing.

Winter learning journey / Day 4 activity 2

This activity was fun because I had to watch these two trailers: Rider trailer #1 and Whale Rider Trailer #2 Then write a summary about these two trailers and rate the trailers 1 to 5.
These trailers was about a girl named Paikia
she had a twin brother that was going to become chief but dies at his birth. only men/boys are allowed to be chief. But since it was only Paikia she strives to become chief herself. I rate the movie a 5 out of 1 because I love how she keeps going for what she believes in even if others say she can't.

Winter learning journey / Day 4 activity 1

In this activity I went to the South Islands I went to a place called Farewell Spit. This has been on the news because there are whales accidatly swimming into the spit and then getting stuck on the beach. They could not swim back because it was way to shallow. People have been trying hard to save them but most of the people died. I had to make a list os things that the people did to try to save the whale.

• All of the people put cloths and towels on them.
• They grab their chilly bins, water bottles,
  cooking pots and mixing bowls to fill with water to keep the whales
  wet to survive.
• Pour buckets of water on them to keep them filled in water.

Winter learning journey / Day 3 activity 2

Activity 2 is about what I think because NZ people are killing pests just like possums. I have to make an opinion to give three reasons why I think that way.

 

1. Possums eat leaves, flowers, leaf buds, fruit, birds, insects and snails.

2. Possums eat eggs and chicks of  kokako

3. Really dangerous to other animals because Possums have a diseases that can go around killing other animals.

Winter learning journey / Day 3 activity 1

I love doing this activity because I helped by adopting a Native bird. The bird that I picked was a Red-Crown Kakariki I liked the wild colors on this Native bird. This Native bird does eat a lot of habitats , but eat mainly seeds, flowers and fruit from numerous plant species. Invertebrates, particularly scale insects. They live in the wild on trees.

For this bonus activity I had to interview one of my family. I decided to ask my older brother I ask him what is your favourite out door activity's to do.

Winter learning journey / Day 2 activity 1

For this activity I went to Rangitoto, Karekare Beach and Tane Mahuta. I learnt a lot about all three of these wonderful places. I picked one of a favourite places to go out of these three I picked Tane Mahuta I love Tane Mahuta because I love Nature and going out side to the wild.

The Winter learning journey is so fun and amazing. I have only done three activitys and I love it this is why I decided to also do the bonus activity. For the bonus activity I had my first tour around the Sky Tower. At the end I also had to create a New Zealand Flag.

Winter learning journey / Activity 1

1. Did you know that 69% European descent. 14.6% are indigenous Māori and 9.2% Asian and 6.9% non-Māori Pacific Islanders.
2. Have you noticed that 15% of kiwis own there own boat.
3. Rugby football is the most famous sport in NZ.

Activity 1 for winter blogging was to go on a site about NZ people and type three facts that I learnt from reading on the website and do not copy and paste.

Duffy books

At the end of this term we got our Duffy books I was so excited. I am almost done reading my book. This is a picture of my class LS2 holding up our books. 

T2 reflection

This term was amazing we had a lot of great opportunities to do a lot of exciting things like learn about TaeKwondo and also meeting with Tamaki wrap. I learnt a lot about reduce,reuse,recycle,reduce and redesign. I got to know my class more and more as the days go pass which was fun.

Cyber bulling

Cyber bulling has been in common around the world and we need to stop it. I hope this will help others to stop cyber bulling every where. I hope these 5 tips will help others to stop.

TaeKwondo

TaeKwondo was a really fun sport to learn about. It was a great activity I got to work with others and try to work moves out together. I love doing this and I had a really amazing coach called Steave. I am really sad that we will not be doing this again.

7 or 9 or more stars?

everyone has been asking how many stars are there? This was on TVNZ some people are saying it is true some are saying no but some are not sure. I found a lot of information about the Matariki stars.

Current Events / Matariki

Current Events is a great task because I get to know where things are happening. This Current event is for Matariki there are a lot of other fun and amazing events that are happening. I found a lot of information about the events for Matariki.

Text to self / Family celebration

For Matariki I finished my text to self task. This task was to type about how my family celebrate a event I chose to talk about the biggest event for my family which was Christmas. This was fun to do because I got to talk about my family and how we all get together.

Plastic free July.

On Tuesday 4th July Tamaki Wrap came to my school PBS. This was so exciting because we couldn't wait to learn more about plastic and how the recycling progress works. We first had to split up into 2 groups then spread up into to 4 groups. There was four tables to go to and learn other things about plastic. At the end we all took a fabric bag that Tamaki Wrap came with and took a photo and a video of all of us screaming out Plastic free July. This was a fun project and we did learn a lot of interesting things about our environment. This is every thing me and my partner Brooklyn learnt from Tamaki Wrap

Winter Solstice

The winter solstice is the shortest period of time in the year. This presentation will show you all about the winter solstice. I also learnt a lot about the winter solstice and the summer solstice.

Dance Evolution

My group knows what we need to work on and what we did amazing on. We have learnt a lot from dance and how to make our dance perfect. We have come a long way from where we started because at the start we didn't know how to create a perfect dance.
