Information report Tigers

Information Report Writing Frame - Animal
Purpose:
LI - To write an information report that informs the reader about a tigers.
Title:
  • Remember the title of your information report needs to let the reader know your topic
Information Report-Tigers
Opening Statement:
  • What is the information report about?
  • Is your animal known by another name (for example, the scientific name)?
  • What is an interesting fact about your topic?
Tiger’s
Yes it is known by another name.
Tigers can reach a length of up to 3.3 metres (11 feet) and weigh as much as 300 kilograms (660 pounds).
Paragraph 1
Appearance
  • 2-3 sentences about what your animal looks like.
  • Try to include an interesting fact.
The most distinctive part of a tiger is its coloring, which is golden orange with black stripes. Tigers who live the farthest north tend to be lighter orange than those in southern areas.
Paragraph 2
Diet
  • 2-3 sentences about what your animal eats.
  • Try to include brackets () to explain something in greater detail.
Tigers eat a variety of prey ranging in size from termites to elephant calves. However, an integral component of their diet are large-bodied prey weighing about 20 kg (45 lb) or larger such as moose, deer species, pigs, cows, horses, buffaloes and goats.

Habitat
  • 2-3 sentences about where your animal lives.
  • Try to include a rhetorical question to make your reader think.
The tiger is native to Asia but you will find them in many other locations including China.

  • 2-3 sentences that tell some of the interesting facts you have found out about.
  • Beginning one sentence with a hook is your challenge here.
Tigers don’t have a set season for reproduction to take place. Instead they are able to engage in the activities throughout the year.
Conclusion:
  • A sentence that ends your report with one of your most interesting facts
Tigers are good swimmers and can swim up to 6 kilometers.Rare white tigers carry a gene that is only present in around 1 in every 10000 tigers.
Today I learnt a lot about Tigers I did a investigation on it and it was very fun to learn about Tigers I found a lot of interesting facts.
