This maths game is called Table Conga. Table Conga has helped me to learn my four times tables but also helped me a lot to learn the times tables that I don't know how to do. You can control Conga by using the arrow keyboards. So if you are doing the four times table like I am you go across the number four first and Conga will grab the number behind him. You keep grabbing the number after the number you have collected. For example you've just finish grabbing the number four next is the number eight. Do not touch the the grey circle with the X on it that is a virus you will die.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Ms Kirkpatrick and Mrs Anderson.

Kiwican
Kiwican was really fun. We got to learn how to respect each other by playing collaborative games. One of the games were hand soccer. To play hand soccer you will need a lot of people to play. We all were bending down and trying to make sure the ball didn't go threw our legs. We could only use our hands to slap the ball to each other. This really made me show a positive attitude to others around the class room and outside the school grounds.
Kiwisport-Softball
For Kiwisport our sport that we were learning are the techniques of Softball. We learnt how to throw and catch the softballs. My group also learnt the animals we should be to catch and throw the balls. To catch the balls we were being a crocodile, Monkey and crab. We made our hands into butterfly's to catch the balls as well. Our session taught me a lot about catching ans throwing a Softball. This made me a lot more confident about Softball and showed me that I was good at throwing and I did not know that.
Whakatauki
This is Panmure Bridges Whakatauki. My class are learning about our Whakatauki because we need to know our school better than we already do. This task really helped me to learn more about Panmure Bridge School and what our school really cares about.

Chinese New Year - Explanation
How is Chinese New Year Celebrated?
Chinese New Year is celebrated in many and different ways but some people don’t celebrate Chinese New year at all. They celebrate Chinese New Year to symbolize an old legend centuries ago. There is a lot of traditions that are important to the Chinese culture. Do you celebrate Chinese New Year?
One of the traditions is the traditional Chinese New Year food. Food is very important when celebrating Chinese New Year. Every Chinese New Year they eat Noodles,Dumplings,Fish,Spring Rolls,Niangao (Rice Cake), and Shrimp. Shrimps symbolizes happiness because the mandarin word for shrimp means happiness. Noodles shouldn't be cut because they help us grow and live a long life.
They also celebrate by having big parades and festivals that are open to anyone. In the parades they play their drums loudly but they also represent the 12 animals. The 12 animals show what your personality is. Chinese New Year goes for 15 days. It starts when there's a new moon and ends when the moon is full. On the last day they celebrate by having a big lantern festival. Like the parade it is open to anyone who would like to take part.
Another tradition that people do is they decorate their houses. One of the decorations they use is the New Year Couplets. New Year Couplets is always pasted on doors. The Couplets shows best wishes for the next year. Many couplets is about the spring arrival. During Chinese New Year it is bad to see lanterns hung of trees because it can drive off bad luck. They also use paper cuttings to represent Luck and Happiness.
People celebrate Chinese New Year in other multiple ways . The Chinese traditions have a big impact on family. The Legend is why the Chinese New Year became. It is very popular to the culture. There is a number of people who celebrate Chinese New Year just like us.

Morning Routine - Explanation
|
My Morning Routine
My morning routine is a very easy process. But it also helps me to stay organized. How you might ask well there is important things I need to remember before I go to school. Many of these important things gets me ready for a successful day. Is your morning routine important to you?
One important job that I have in the family is to turn on the kettle for everyone to use. I also have to make sure I fill the water inside just the right amount for everyone to use. I have this job because I am old enough to use a kettle and I am the first one awake. This is my main job because no one else does it and my family counts on me to do it every morning through Monday till Friday.
Just like turning on the kettle I am the first one to go shower. I go for a shower because it is the one hygienic key to staying healthy and fresh. I have a shower every morning even on the weekends. After having a shower I get changed into my uniform that I washed and dried out the day before. As I have finished changing I also have to remember to put my sports leader badge on.
Then I get into the kitchen to check just in case I have the things I need for breakfast. Here are the things I need for breakfast:
- Milk
- Cereal
- Milo
- Sugar
- Bowl
- Cup
When I have got all of these things I can set up my breakfast. As soon as I have had breakfast I can get my lunch organised. First I get my lanch box out of my bag and I get the ingredients I need to make my sandwich. If I have finished making my sandwich and packed some chippy packets I put a water bottle in my backpack.
Here is why my morning routine is easy. Since I am a year eight I have to be organized by myself. This process is very important to me. This makes me have a amazing day prepared. This is why my morning routine is simple but also important.
My first writing task was to write a explanation about my morning routine. By doing this task I can remember what a structure of a explanation is.

Summer Holiday Recount
To start off the year we first did a writing task. By doing this writing task we are learning how to recount. I first had to pick a event that I did over the weekends. Then I filled in this sheet but were not allowed to tell where our event was at. This really helped everyone to remember the fun times that they had. It also helped us to use some literary devices.
Remembering our summer holiday
L.I. - Writing to recount
Writing using language features to engage readers
Complete these sentences about an event over the summer holiday. Don’t tell us what the event was just give us enough information that we can know for ourselves.
I felt excited because I could have fun with my family.
I felt sad because it was extremely hot.
I wondered if the boys could feel the burning heat.
I heard people screaming their lungs out.
I saw the little kids running around.
I heard the rides squeaking side to side.
I wondered if people could see my heart beating out of my chest.
